We are just around the corner from our Annual Water Seminar on Friday, September 16 at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction!

If you haven’t checked recently, our finalized agenda hosts an exciting lineup of speakers and panelists, all of whom bring unique perspectives to the current Colorado River Basin crisis.

Here are a few of the highlights:
• Upper and Lower Division water users representing Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California will hold a lively panel discussion on how the 2026 Interim Guideline negotiations and potential federal action by the Bureau of Reclamation may play out across the spectrum of collaboration to litigation.
• We’re honored to host Council Member Lorelei Cloud from the Southern Ute Tribe and Daryl Vigil from the Jicarilla Apache Nation, who will discuss Tribal Water Rights & The Colorado River in a sovereign-to-sovereign discussion with Colorado Commissioner to the UCRC Rebecca Mitchell and New Mexico Commissioner Estevan Lopez.
• Our lunchtime keynote will be Kate Greenberg, Commissioner for the Colorado Department of Agriculture, who’ll discuss cultivating opportunities for West Slope agriculture before sitting down with two Grand Valley producers – Lowell King and Janie VanWinkle.
• Alex Hager with KUNC will talk water in the news cycle in his afternoon keynote: Writing Water, A Journalist’s Perspective.

And in case you missed it, a total of seven (7) CLE credits will be available for lawyers pursuing continuing legal education. CLE credits will only be available for in-person registrations, which are only $45 in advance. Register today to receive CLE credits for attending this flagship western water event.

Finally…
Your in-person registration gets you a complimentary beverage at a special networking happy hour with wine and local beer generously donated by Palisade Brewing Company.

Don’t miss this opportunity to join the Colorado River Basin water community as we work together towards a brighter, more resilient future for all. RSVP here.

We hope to see you at the Annual Water Seminar on September 16!
